I really need to get a video and post it.

Carson loves the piano.  He practices willingly and happily, sometimes a few times a day.

I was at 2 births last week, so didn’t have a chance to sit down and help him learn his new song.  I asked yesterday if he had started. 

“No, it is too hard.”  So I helped him learn the first page and the left hand of the second page.

Then today he practiced the first page and learned the second page.  I helped him some more.  Then it was time for me to put Bryson in bed.

“Ok, you can be done. ”  I said.

“I want to do it a few more times, OK?”

“Ummm, sure, that is fine.”

Then he practiced that song 3 or 4 more times.  Played the song he learned the week before, it is memorized now.  And the other song he is working on too.  I think that is memorized as well.  He has a gift.  Which makes it easy for me!

New for us anyway.  I have been looking for a piano for a few months.  Carson has switched piano teachers and he should have a “real” piano instead of a keyboard. 

I had a friend who had a really nice piano to sell, but since we are not sure how committed Carson will be to piano, we hate to spend $1500.  So I have put feelers out for a piano.  I have been praying for a piano, believing one will come to us if it is meant to be.

So today my friend Melanie called.  “Are you still looking for a piano?”

Me:  YES!

Melanie:  There is one outside in front of a house with some furniture being donated to charity.  (where we live there are pink bags.  Charities leave them and you fill them and they pick stuff up.  Great for decluttering)  You could run over and see if you could take it.

Me:  OK! 

I drive up and down the street 3 times and don’t see it.  I am disappointed and figure the truck has already picked it up.  Then I see Melanie, she was coming to check for me, but I beat her.  Thank goodness she came, because it was right there and I just didn’t see it.  I knock on the door.  No one answers.  I leave a note, in case they come home before the truck comes.  Then I decide to try the neighbors house to see if they have a phone number.  I get the number and call. 

The daughter had been home, but didn’t want to answer the door.  But she was there and had seen my note and called her mom and it was fine.   I rushed home to get Rob.  Melanie offered to bring her truck and we could load it up.  I decided to save our backs and hire a piano mover.  (We want it to be upstairs)  So I grabbed Rob, we drove over and pushed it into their garage.

I called the piano movers and they will be able to pick it up Thursday morning and that works for them.  So hopefully by Thursday we will have a piano.  I need to schedule a tuner for Friday, as it is pretty out of tune! 

Also when I talked to the piano owner, she actually knows my doula partner Cindy.  What a small world!  She was also SO excited it was going to a family.  It was her grandmothers and she was so sad to give it away to a random store. 

So prayers work, even when you ask for pianos!  Especially when you let your friends know what you are praying for, they can help answer prayers!

Once it is here and tuned I will video Carson playing a song and put it up!
