Now he isn’t walking.  The foot that got smushed hurts him.  I am hoping he wakes up today and is fine.  I am busy going to the hospital for a version and then a post partum appointment.  Lots of births and doula stuff going on.  Which is FUN, but a little crazy too.

Life is busy, busy, busy.  Luckily we are all healthy and just cruisin’ along, with piano, karate, school, homeschool, tennis, preschool, park days. 

Rob has been EXTRA busy, working like a crazy man.  Non-stop, probably 70 hours a week.  I am just happy he has a job.

Being sick as a mom is not fun, add being a doula on  top of that and it adds a whole other aspect to it. 

I was fighting off a cold all week long.  I was still able to do all the mom things I had to do.  I attended a Baby Shower Wed. night, Karate graduation Thursday night, Blue and Gold Dinner Friday night.  I was exhausted, but did it all.  I felt worn down, but not SICK,  just on the edge. 

I fell into bed Friday night, thinking if I can just get a good night sleep tonight, then I will feel better.  Well at midnight Thing 2 started throwing up.  He threw up every 30 minutes all night long, until 5 am.    Each time I got up to help him, I kept thinking, “What if my doula client calls me right now?”  Thankfully she didn’t. 

Then Thing 3 woke me up at 6:30.  “The sun is up!” 

So I put on a video and lay on the couch and tried to sleep more.  Thing 2 woke up and threw up again.  Then I had to get Thing 1 to horseback riding lessons.  By the time I was home at noon, I was SICK!  My head was pounding, my nose was running, the kind where I went through 2 boxes of kleenex in one day. 

I napped from 2-4 and I felt worse when I woke up and had a fever.  I could only sit on the sofa and sit there and just exist, I couldn’t read, I couldn’t help Rob clean up all the throw up towels from the night before.  I was worthless.  I thought, “What if my doula client calls me right now?”  I knew I couldn’t go to a birth, I had a fever and could barely even sit on the sofa. 

Luckily I have a wonderful back up group.  I called Cindy and she said she was available to be on call for this mom.  So I called the mom and told her that I was out of commission until I called her on Sunday.  She was fine with that. 

I went to bed at 8 PM, with my ringer off and slept all night.  I had totally bizarre dreams all night long and at some point my fever broke and I was all sweaty.  But when my faithful alarm clock Thing 3 yelled, “The sun is up” at 6:30 I felt alive again.

By noon I was showered and functioning, I called my client back and let her know I was back on call. 

That was not fun.  I also am pretty low functioning today and the boys have pretty much been on the computer or watching TV today and I just don’t even care.  Tomorrow I will be a better mom, today I am just happy to feel somewhat normal again!

I have done 4 loads of laundry, but nothing is folded.  Oh well, at least the germs are cleaned off of everything.

Well, Day 2 didn’t go as well.  He chewed one, gagged and spit out one, then I had to leave for a meeting and left Dad in charge.  I am not sure what happened.  But when I got home T1 exclaimed, I will never swallow a pill again.  I don’t think it made it down, but I am pretty sure it wasn’t pretty.

Day 3 we did liquid calcium with probiotics mixed in, but I still wanted him to swallow one calcium.  So we sat down to try.  T1 said, “Is it going to take 40 minutes again this time?”  I said that I hoped not.  He got it into his mouth numerous times, but kept taking it out.  His hands were getting all white.  Finally he discovered he didn’t mind licking it.  So he licked it for about 20 minutes while it slowly disolved. 

How boring would my life be without T1.  It was fun to sit and chuckle with him.  I must say that I have relaxed in the last few months.  I didn’t get mad and was happy he found a way that worked for him this time.  Though I am hoping tonight he will swallow the pill.  Who has 20 minutes each night to lick a pill while it slowly disolves?

T1 has been TIRED and hungry and can’t hear and having trouble sleeping.  He also has his tics and other issues. I brought him to the pediatrician, she ran blood tests and they are all normal.  Growth spurt and a referral to a neurologist.

First I went to see Dr. J my chiropractor friend.  She adjusted him and gave us some supplements.  Also a change in diet.  We are going back in 2 weeks.  Hopefully there will be some improvements.  If not we will make our neurologist appointment.
