My Dad is pretty cool. I don’t see him a lot during the week. He is always at this place called ‘work’. I have been there a few times and really like playing with the water cooler. I can see why he spends so much time there. I love the weekends, because then I get to play with Dad. He takes us on bike rides, camping, swimming and to play tennis.
My Mom is pretty busy. She is always driving us around in the van, doing laundry or the dishes. Sometimes she spends too much time on the computer or reading, but then I yell at her until she stops. Mom said a bad word when she stepped on a Lego on the floor and then threatened to throw them all away. I am so glad she didn’t as I enjoy playing with them. As I get older and my fine motor skills improve, I will actually be able to build Legos on my own, without asking my mom to help me 100 times a day. I did accidentally drop a Lego in the potty once, but mom fished it out before I flushed it down.
Devon is almost 11. When he isn’t at school he seems to be either reading a book or making a movie. I often get to be the star in his movies (or Legos are). I like to watch him build Legos, though sometimes my helping seems to irritate him.
Carson is 8 and he is very active; riding his bike, going to gymnastics and running. He used to love soccer until he broke his leg. That was a pretty sad day, but his wheelchair was fun. He had a lot of happy days too and an extra special day this year when he got baptized. He seems to be playing the piano a lot lately and it is fun to dance while he plays.
Sometimes having big brothers is great, like when they play Legos with me. Sometimes it is torturous, like tonight when we were playing with the Christmas train and they were letting me drive, but then they kept knocking it off the track, “by accident”. I cried and mom came and yelled at them.
Being 3 is pretty great! I do fun things like preschool, music class and I have a lot of play dates. I also use the potty now and sleep in a big boy bed. The only downside of being 3 is I get left out of some things. Everyone else goes to Karate without me, they all wear a uniform with an orange belt and I must admit, I am a bit jealous. Another uniform I miss out on is Scouts. My Dad is Scout Master, Devon is a Webelo and almost has his Arrow of Light, Carson is a Wolf Cub and Mom is his Den Leader. I want a Scout shirt too. Mom keeps telling me, ‘just 5 more years’ and then mutters under her breath “Time is flying by too fast”
I went on trips to Utah and Florida this year. I really like the snow in Utah; next year I might get to try skiing, instead of just watching. I was kind of sad when my parents didn’t take me to Disney World while we were in Orlando. But I did get to watch everyone swim with the dolphins and we saw the space shuttle, so I guess it is ok.
I enjoyed it when Nana came to visit in May, until my parents left and went someplace called Mexico without me. The QUIETEST week of the year was when my big brothers went to Chicago to visit the Grandparents and Dad went to New York for work (or was it London or Rome?) and it was just Mom and I for a week. We went to the Zoo, Aquarium, rode some ponies and I got lots of extra attention.
Have a Merry Christmas. I send my love and I hope you get some extra attention this Holiday Season!
